Reassurance and 3D/4D scanning

Private Scans

Due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) the Trust has taken the decision to temporarily suspend the private scanning service. We will be reviewing the situation regularly and should anything change we will update this page.

Liverpool Women's is a nationally recognised centre of excellence which has established a private reassurance and 3D/4D scanning service. This is suitable for those wanting extra reassurance scans outside the normal NHS provision.

You can choose between either of the two packages, both costing just £55.

2D Reassurance Scan

This scan can be performed from 7 weeks up to 40 weeks and will include, 4 black and white pictures, confirmation of gender (if over 16 weeks and requested) and if over 16 weeks can look 3D. It may be possible to arrange on the day of your appointment.
3D/4D Scan

It is recommended that the 3D/4D scan is best performed from 24 to 28 weeks. This scan will include, 4 black and white pictures and gender confirmation if requested.
Optional extras

You can purchase extra black and white pictures at £5 each or a USB stick for £10.

This is a non-diagnostic service by fully qualified sonographers using the most up-to-date technology.

The income generated from this service supports Liverpool Women's Hospital and contributes directly to the care of our patients.

All packages include 15 minutes scan time. The image quality will be dependent on your baby’s position during the scan and maternal BMI.
