The Non-English Speaking Team (NEST) provide care for those women and families booked at the Liverpool Women’s who do not speak English. The majority of your antenatal care will be performed at the hospital as we host an antenatal clinic using translation services with midwifery and consultant support, although home visits can be arranged if needed.
NEST midwives are committed to providing you with the care and support you need, making sure you have all the information required in your own language, when possible, for you to make the right choices for you and your baby. One of the team midwives will be responsible for planning and providing most of your care, and you will have the opportunity to meet other midwives in the team.
We work closely with various charities and support agencies across Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley and are able to refer women if required dependent on need.
Once you have had your baby your midwife will visit you at home for upto 4 weeks after your baby is born. Once you have been discharged you will be cared for by your health visitor and GP.
