Our Trust is renowned for its treatment of gynaecological cancer and for its multi- disciplinary team of caring professionals who ensure that every patient receives the very best individual treatment and care plan. The purpose of the joint outpatient clinics, held weekly at Liverpool Women’s Crown Street site are to plan, assess and support women with a diagnosis of gynaecological cancer and follow-up treatment plan. The treatment option most appropriate for the patient is discussed with specialist consultants, sometimes in joint consultation, which allows individual treatment planning and ongoing assessment.
What will happen
This clinic is multidisciplinary - this means that you may need to discuss your care with more than one member of the team, (doctors, nurses and other members of the team). The team meets on a Wednesday morning before clinic starts to plan the treatment for each patient. This does affect the running of the clinic and you may have to wait for longer than you expected. We will do our best to keep delays to a minimum and we will inform you of any delays during the clinic. Our priority is to meet the individual needs of every patient and family where sometimes longer consultation time is needed. We appreciate your understanding and patience. The morning part of the clinic is usually for patients early in their treatment plans and the afternoon is allocated for follow-up appointments.
