Colposcopy clinic

A colposcopy examination is usually carried out on women who have abnormal smear test results. It uses a special magnifying instrument to examine the vagina and cervix.

What will happen

Before you attend, you will receive a letter and an appointment card, along with a leaflet that explains coloscopy examinations and procedures. Every new patient has a full medical history taken before being examined and a nurse will be with you during the course of the examination itself.
