Our Maternity Service is here for you
Over recent weeks our Maternity Service has seen increased levels of activity that at certain times has resulted in us having to make difficult decisions regarding admission plans for some pregnant women. We understand that this has been a worrying time for pregnant women and families. We would therefore like to provide some further detail and reassurance about our Maternity Service, what to expect when you come to the hospital and the support that we are able to offer.

Breastfeeding Celebration Week 2021
This week is Breastfeeding Celebration Week, and this year the focus is on how partners and the wider family can support new mothers to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is a natural process, however it is not always easy and the support from family and friends can make a massive difference to new mothers. Emotional and practical help can also make a huge difference to the breastfeeding experience and opportunity to bond with the new baby.

Baby Loss Awareness Week 2021 Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place between 9th and 15th October annually. The aim of the week is to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK. Bereaved families, healthcare professionals, support organisations and volunteers come together to remember babies who have died during any stage of pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy.
