Latest updates as Liverpool Women's Hospital gradually returns to normal

Transferring your Care to Liverpool Women’s Hospital

Liverpool Women’s Hospital Midwifery Team welcomes all women and their families whose care has been discontinued by One to One (North West) Ltd midwifery service.

Our award winning maternity service is located at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, Crown Street; and has provision for care across the city and surrounding areas. Liverpool Women’s are also proud to have the largest Midwife Led Unit in the region.

Liverpool Women’s Midwifery Team strives to provide continuity of care. All women are allocated a named midwife at the start of their pregnancy journey, promoting care closer to home and in their choice of where to have their baby. With the largest dedicated home birth midwifery team in the region, our dedicated Midwife at Home Team provide flexible individualised care to suit the needs of women and their families. I have been receiving care with One to One how can I access Liverpool Women’s Maternity Services?

If you have been receiving care with One to One midwives, all women can be assured that they can be booked for their care with our midwifery teams.

Depending on where you are in your pregnancy journey please see below relevant contact numbers and what to do:

  • If you feel you are in labour please contact our Midwife Led Unit on 0151 702 4626
  • If you are 37 weeks or more pregnant and have planned a home birth please contact our Community Team Leader Rachel Mavers on 0151 702 4434 or email 
  • If you have your screening appointment or urgent scan appointment booked with One to One please contact our Community Team Leader Rachel Mavers on 0151 702 4434 or email
  • If you are less than 36 weeks pregnant and your pregnancy has been progressing well you can transfer your care via our online booking referral form here.

Liverpool Women’s Hospital has a fantastic reputation for providing high quality midwifery care. We offer active birth classes; Hypnobirthing; aromatherapy and pool births. Our recent CQC status gave maternity outstanding for responsiveness.

NHS Commissioners have been advised that One to One (North West) Limited have taken the decision that they are unable to continue with their contract to provide community midwifery services and will go into administration at 5.00pm on Wednesday 31st July 2019.
