Tim Gold appointed as Chief Transformation Officer

We are pleased to announce that Tim Gold has been appointed as our new Chief Transformation Officer and will be joining the Executive team in February 2024 in a joint role which also covers Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).

Currently an Improvement Director in NHS England’s National Recovery Support Team, Tim has worked for more than two decades in public sector transformation and improvement in the NHS, local government, and private sector. Most recently, Tim has been working with LUHFT as their Improvement Director from NHS England, where he has led work with the Executive team to design and implement an improvement plan.

Before joining NHS England, Tim gained operational leadership and improvement experience in acute hospitals, including being Interim Chief Operating Officer at Harrogate and District Foundation Trust and Director of Operations at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, with accountability for medicines, surgery and maternity services. Tim also has 15 years’ experience in healthcare consulting as a Director at PwC and Capita.

Speaking about his appointment, Tim said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Boards of LUHFT and LWH to bring leadership to their ongoing improvement journeys. It’s an exciting and important time for the Liverpool health and care system and I was delighted to accept the position. I look forward to working with colleagues to deliver the improvement plans that will enable the best care possible for the communities we serve.”

He brings extensive experience in internal transformation work, programme delivery and system change which will prove valuable as we progress along our improvement journey to make sure our hospitals are great places to receive care and to work.”
