Chief Executive

Securing a Workforce for the future

As CEO at Liverpool Women's Hospital, my prime concern is for the safe, effective & efficient running of our services to patients, but it is also important that I am involved in issues that impact on health & well being wider than Liverpool Women's Hospital.

I Chair, on behalf of other Chief Executives in Cheshire & Merseyside, the Workforce & Education Group, which has responsibilities to ensure that across Cheshire & Merseyside we have the right workforce numbers, skills & experience to deliver healthcare in primary, secondary & tertiary care services.  This requires me to work closely with all of the local universities who provide healthcare courses & programmes.

I will be spending the day in Preston today, focussing on the development of this group to ensure that we are fit for purpose.

On Wednesday, Liverpool Women's Hospital will be hosting the North West Governors Forum which is a development day for all Governors of Foundation Trusts across the North West of England.  Governors play an important role in the safe running of Foundation Trust's and we are looking forward to welcoming colleagues to our hospital from across the North West.

A reminder that on Thursday evening from 6pm we will be hosting a Medicine for Members event on the subject of menopause. This event is free and open to all and will involve presentations from our resident experts on the subject as well as an opportunity for audience members to discuss their own experience.
