LFC star supports local NHS heroes

A local Liverpool FC player has kindly donated to Liverpool Women’s Hospital’s staff fundraising appeal, which is asking for support to help fund staff well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All donations to the appeal will help fund staff well-being through a range of support measures, which will give staff a huge boost at this difficult time.

Liverpool Women’s is under increased pressure during the current pandemic. The hospital cannot and will not stop caring for people. The nurses, midwives, doctors and the army of support staff are going above and beyond to make sure that this outstanding care continues.

Kate Davis, head of fundraising at Liverpool Women’s, said:

“Everyone at LWH would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful LFC player who has supported our LWH staff team public appeal. His fantastic donation has given staff a much needed morale boost and demonstrates the community spirit and support for all, which runs strong in Liverpool. Thank you for your humility YNWA.”

She added: “It’s truly incredible how many people want to support our fantastic NHS staff and I want to thank their kindness in advance. With their support we can help the hospital staff and its patients through these uncertain times.”

To donate and support our nurses, midwives, doctors and other amazing staff at Liverpool Women’s please visit the charity's homepage or donate directly via JustGiving.

We would also kindly ask that if local businesses would also like to make any gifts in kind, by donating toiletries or food, please can you provide 24 hours’ notice, so we are able to ensure our estates and facilities staff are on hand to receive the goods and distribute them across the Trust.

We have been touched by the generosity of the local community so far and everyone at Liverpool Women’s would like to say a huge thank you.
