Be Part of Research – Clinical Trials Day 2021

Happy International Clinical Trials Day!  Today we celebrate the work of James Lind and recognize the day that he started what is often considered the first randomized clinical trial aboard a ship on May 20, 1747.

James Lind is remembered as the man who helped to conquer a killer disease. His reported experiment on board a naval ship in 1747 showed that oranges and lemons were a cure for scurvy.

Today is also a day to say thank you to participants, family members and staff who support research day to day, this last year has proved just how important research is in protecting public health.

Learn more about the current research programmes, undertaken by our Liverpool Women’s researchers and often in collaboration with others. Each are focused on benefiting patients by enhancing the overall care we provide across all clinical areas.
