Advice during resident doctors industrial action (25 - 30 July 2025)

Resident doctors are currently scheduled to take industrial action between 25 to 30 July 2025.

Unless advised otherwise, please attend appointments at Liverpool Women's University Hospital as normal.

Any patients whose appointments are impacted will be contacted directly. 

 

Partnering with universities

Liverpool Women’s has strong links with academia. The University Department of Women’s and Children’s Health is based at Liverpool Women’s Crown Street hospital site and includes a team of senior clinical academic staff. 

Research and collaborative working

Research focuses on clinical trials and Cochrane Systematic Reviews, tropical obstetrics, preterm labour and birth, neonatal drug development, endometriosis, and myometrial contractility. Current research is funded by the Medical Research Council, the National Institute for Health Research, Wellbeing, the Moulton Trust, the Gates Foundation, and the EU. There is close collaboration between the Trust, the Department of Physiology and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. The Department also houses the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group, the most productive Cochrane Review Group worldwide.
