- I qualified from the University of London in 1991. After several years of core medical training I decided on a career in Clinical Genetics. I completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Genetics at the Institute of Child Health in London and then completed my specialist training in Bristol. I was appointed as a consultant at Liverpool Women's Hospital in 2002 where I take a lead for cancer genetics across Cheshire and Merseyside.
As a Clinical Geneticist I offer risk assessment for individuals and their families who may be at risk of genetic conditions. This will then allow people to make informed decisions about how they would like to manage their personal risk. Within Clinical Genetics we acknowledge and respect that people make very different decisions regarding risk management and we help to guide individuals through their options.
