Meet and Greet Volunteers
Can you spare 4 hours each week to guide our patients and visitors to departments, are you enthusiastic and have good communication skills? Yes? Then we would love you to join our band of volunteers on Meet and Greet at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
The Meet and Greet service core hours are:
Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm
The majority of our volunteering opportunities are subject to medical clearance, DBS check and two references. The recruitment process is quite stringent, as we are sure that you will agree the safety and wellbeing of our patients, women, babies and staff are of paramount importance. The recruitment process usually takes between 2-3 months to complete; consequently we would only consider applications from individuals who intend to volunteer for a minimum of 6 months.
We appreciate that some of you are considering employment in the Health Service or allied professions, and our aim is to help people gain experience and insight into clinical areas and working alongside support and clinical staff. Therefore, anyone who completes 48 hours of volunteering in the Meet and Greet role can request a transfer to a clinical area, subject to availability.
How do I get Started?
We hold Volunteer Recruitment and Corporate Induction Sessions throughout the year. At these sessions we explain all about the recruitment process and volunteering opportunities - it also forms part of your corporate training. Our next session is on:
Firstly, we would like you to attend a Group Informal Chat with the Volunteer Services Team. At these group sessions we will talk about volunteering, and what qualities and skills you could bring to the role to enhance our patients’ and visitors’ journey, along with what you hope to gain from the experience.
If you are successful at the Group Informal Chat, you will be invited to attend the Volunteer Recruitment and Corporate Induction Session.
Please follow the link below to select a time and day to attend a Group Informal Chat, ensuring you add your full name, e-mail address (preferable) and telephone number, along with any information which may be required to help support you, in the 'add comments' field at the bottom of the link page:
