Planned Industrial Action, 26th-27th April 2016 – Notice to our women and their families

You will no doubt be aware that Junior Doctors across the country are planning to take part in industrial action this week. Junior Doctors at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust will also be taking part in this action.

On behalf of Liverpool Women’s, we would like to reassure all of our women and their families that the standard and safety of care they receive will not be affected during this time. Our consultant medical staff, advanced practitioners, nurses and other health professionals will be staffing our services throughout this period and we are confident that we are able to safely staff our services.

We may need to reschedule non-urgent appointments and some non-urgent procedures and will be contacting those patients as soon as possible, but otherwise we would ask you to attend your appointment as normal and let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend for any reason.

During this time our Emergency Department, Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and Maternity Assessment Unit will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as per normal.

If you are anxious or have any queries about your appointment or care on the day of industrial action, please contact us via the numbers below:
