International Women's Day – 8th March 2012
Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust are holding a celebration event to mark International Women’s Day on Thursday 8th March 2012.
The event, which will take place at the hospital on Crown Street between 10.00am and 4.00pm, will be opened by local radio personality Linda McDermott and will feature entertainment from the only UK female Beatles tribute band 'The Beatelles' and the Liverpool Harmonic Gospel Choir.
Kathryn Thomson, Chief Executive of the Liverpool Women’s, said: "As one of only two specialist women's trusts in the UK, and the largest women’s hospital of its kind in Europe, we wanted to mark International Women’s Day, a day when people all over the world recognise the important role women play in society. One of the aims of our event is to educate visitors to the hospital about the various approaches to childbirth across the world."
Throughout the day there will be various activities such as Hula Hooping, Indian Dancing and Zumba taster sessions. There will also be market stalls attended by representatives of many local women's and ethnic minority support groups to promote the services they provide.
All are welcome to come along on the day. For more information please contact Mark Roberts on 0151 702 4372 or email mark.roberts@lwh.nhs.uk.
